Job Description
Our client located in the Spring area is hiring a Staff Accountant. This is an extremely established company offering great growth opportunity for the right person.  Temp to Perm, Monday-Friday, 9-5.
Starting annual salary $45K-$55K depending on your experience. Vacation, PTO and Simple IRA offered at this time.

Commercial Property Accountant:
This is an accounting position at a growing commercial real estate company.  This position reports to the CFO.  We are seeking someone who will be responsible for all required day-to-day accounting functions for an assigned portfolio of properties, and will be the primary accounting liaison to operational staff for the assigned property portfolio. This is a comprehensive position that requires a solid understanding of all aspects of accounting.

Job Description:  Responsible for maintaining the general ledger and providing accurate, complete and timely reporting of the financial operations of assigned properties.  Must be highly organized and have outstanding communication skills (both oral and written) to be successful in this role.  The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of full cycle accounting experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and a solid grasp of MS Excel.  Additional expertise in working with CAM reconciliations is a definite plus.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting 
  • Minimum of three years recent, relevant and similar professional accounting experience in an office environment
  • Demonstrated great attention to detail 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task 
  • Ability to reconcile accounts, solve problems and maintain attention to detail 
  • Highly motivated individual who works well in a small-office and time-sensitive environment and with minimal supervision
  • Real estate experience a plus
  • Possess strong organizational, time management and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy, excellent product quality and attention to detail
Primary Duties:
  • Manage and conduct accounts payable and receivable activities for assigned portfolio
  • Manage debt payments
  • Prepare and review annual CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations
  • Assist in ad hoc projects as needed
  • Keep financial files organized
  • Backup other employees in the department as needed
  • Provide assistance with tenant audits
  • Assist with our lenders’ compliance requirements as needed
  • Perform required accounting functions such as reconciling accounting schedules to the general ledger, making journal entries, reconciling bank statements, preparing supporting working papers, etc. 
  • Assist in the preparation and review of annual budgets
  • Assist operational staff and management with explanations of variances from budget
  • Accurate and timely preparation of periodic financial packages including analyses and supporting schedules of all balance sheet and P&L statement accounts
  • Provide explanations of significant variances in accounts as requested
  • Assist in resolving accounting issues
  • Prepare full-service financial statements for assigned properties for operational staff, CFO, VP and Owner
